Today's rapidly changing economic times have brought dramatic changes in the way real estate is bought and sold.  And given the current state of the real estate market, buyers are also looking for true "bargains" when it comes time to buy. 

Most sales this year have been "short sales" or bank-owned properties due to an historic number of loan defaults.  These defaults were caused by easy credit given to almost anyone, precipitating the rapid rise in real estate prices which became unsustainable and resulted in the ultimate collapse of the market.
